REC Caucasus supports Azerbaijan in strengthening climate governance, advancing low-carbon development and improving environmental management systems.
A major focus of its work is the development of national climate transparency systems. In 2024, REC Caucasus supported the operationalisation of a comprehensive Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system, including greenhouse gas inventories, climate finance tracking and NDC monitoring tools. It also played a key role in preparing Azerbaijan’s First Biennial Transparency Report under the Paris Agreement.
In parallel, the organisation promotes circular economy solutions, including innovative approaches to plastic waste management, recycling systems and public awareness campaigns. Through community engagement and digital tools, REC Caucasus supports behavioural change and more sustainable consumption patterns. REC Caucasus also contributes to sustainable mobility solutions, including the transition toward electric transport systems, and strengthens institutional capacity across ministries and agencies.
Through its work in Azerbaijan, REC Caucasus supports the country’s shift toward a low-emission, resource-efficient and environmentally sustainable future.
