Armenia
In Armenia, REC Caucasus focuses on strengthening sustainable land use, promoting green economy approaches and supporting environmentally responsible public and private sector practices.
Key interventions include restoring degraded lands through the use of local fruit and nut tree species, supporting community-based nurseries and promoting agroforestry practices that improve both ecological stability and rural livelihoods. The organisation also works to enhance circular economy systems, including sustainable public procurement and resource-efficient production through the EU4Environment programme.
REC Caucasus supports capacity building among institutions and businesses, helping them adopt cleaner technologies, reduce waste and improve energy and water efficiency. In parallel, the organisation contributes to environmental governance and international reporting processes, including land degradation neutrality targets under the UNCCD.
By combining policy support, practical field interventions and stakeholder engagement, REC Caucasus contributes to building a more resilient, resource-efficient and sustainable development pathway in Armenia.
