Regional Environmental Centre for Caucasus is executing the project “Applying Landscape and Sustainable Land Management (L-SLM) for Mitigating Land Degradation and Contributing to Poverty Reduction in Rural Areas”. Overall objective of the project is to support integration of good Landscape and Sustainable Land Management (L-SLM) principles and practices into national policy and institutional framework to ensure adoption of economically viable practices by rural communities. This is a 3-year project and is financed by GEF. The implementing agency of the project is UNEP.
In the frames of the project it is planned to update the Soil Information System of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia to new technological environment and to process, organize and migrate existing data into the updated information system.
Qualification requirements
Project must be implemented by GIS (geographic information systems) and database specialist with:
- Minimum five years of experience in working with ArcGIS software package;
- Internationaly acknowledged certificate in ArcGIS Desktop version 10.1 (or later);
- Experience in conducting trainings in ArcGIS and Microsoft Access.
The implementing company must have:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in carrying out IT projects;
- Carried out minimum ten (10) GIS and customized software development projects;
- Team consisting of minimum five (5) members with at least five (5) years of working experience.
