Public participation being a prerequisite for successful policy and decision-making and precondition for transparent and democratic governance is one of the important activity areas of REC Caucasus
Mission of the Programme is to support and facilitate: | | | | - public-participation in environmental decision-making,
| | | Achieved Through: | | | | | - legal and policy analysis,
| assistance to stakeholders (governments, NGOs, businesses, media as well as local communities and general public) in a specific manner
| Since establishment REC Caucasus has implemented four regional multi-component initiatives. Objective is to ensure sustainable development and diversification of the programme involving new target groups, especially from outside of capitals, and in cooperation with other programmes and projects increasing level of awareness, as well as skilfulness of citizens of the South Caucasus countries to take active part in environmental decision-making.
